LMS 4F Fowler 0-6-0 Esanel E/9 later BEC cast kit 3SMR C2 but effectively
replaced by part etched 3SMR ECS2. LMS numbers 4027 - 4206 with right
hand drive following Midland right hand drive engines 3835 - 4026, also
ex S&D 4557 - 4561. The Esanel kit is left hand drive, LMS numbers
4207 - 4556 and 4562 - 4606. There has also been a Mike Raithby etched
kit which may be re-introduced with improved tender. There is a slight
possibility of a Connoisseur (ex ACME) etched kit. Wheel base 8
0 + 8 6. Etched chassis 3SMR 604 or 606 [labelled for
4F] with fluted rods or Society JM3. The correct wheels for a 4F are:

LMS numbers 4768 - 5499. A Chris Thane Comet derived etched chassis which
includes the bogie is available, 3SMR chassis 620 was originally supplied
with this kit and is the right wheel base although it claims not to be,
it doesnt include the bogie. Wheel base for later roller bearing
Ivatt Black Fives is bogie 6 6 - 5 8 - 7
0 + 8 4, LMS 4748 - 4753 and 4758 - 4767 plus BR 44658
- 44747 and 44754 - 44757. The correct wheels for a Black Five are:

LMS 6P Royal Scot 4-6-0. LMS numbers 6100 - 6169. Kitmaster plastic kit
Stanier 2A taper boiler and Maurice Pilsworth cast copy, GEM Fowler parallel
boiler cast kit 3SMR G6. Wheel base bogie 6 6 - 5 8
- 7 4 + 8 0. The Royal Scots were built with fluted
coupling and connecting rods with square ends for marine brasses, the
brasses were changed to round later. A few (believed 10) engines acquired
Stanier pattern plain coupling rods, but 8 later, and most others later
had fluted rods with round ends. Only 6115 received smoke deflectors while
an LMS rebuild. 46106 had BR standard style smoke deflectors.. A Chris
Thane Comet derived etched chassis which includes the bogie is available,
3SMR chassis 620 is not right wheel base although it claims to be. The
correct wheels for a Royal Scot are:

Parallel boiler engines started with 3,500 gallon Fowler tenders changed
to Stanier in 1936. At rebuilding in 1946, 6104 acquired a Stanier 3,500
gallon tender. In 1950, 6162 received it and 6104 reverted to 4,000 gallon

etched body and the Comet Royal Scot chassis. Also planned to follow is
